- Summer Stuff PLUS ONLY (Mon - Thurs), 1:00pm-3:00pm. Tuition for four half days is $525.
At PLUS, play equals learning! PLUS offers enrichment in Science, Art, Construction and Music:
- Mad Science is back again and sparking imaginative learning with hands-on science classes
- A 6 week study of artists and their techniques; think Andy Warhol, Jim Dine and Wayne Thiebaud…
- Have you ever wondered where kids come up with some of their stories? We’ll give you a bird’s eye view into their process in our Construction Room. Here, campers make their stories come alive with 3 dimensional objects. You need to see it to believe it, trust us on this one!
- Has your camper ever wanted to play the Djembe, Quido, or Moari sticks? Well here’s their chance! Ms Julie, from the Old Town School of Folk Music, will be teaching us all about music and instruments from around the world!
Summer Stuff PLUS is located at:
Willard Elementary
2700 Hurd Ave
Evanston, IL.
A Typical Day
Summer Stuff PLUS is fortunate to have a dedicated staff of teachers who meet in advance to plan the curriculum. The curriculum is devised of 6 weekly themes which challenge the campers’ minds and muscles! What may appear to be “just play” actually is the result of careful planning and an understanding of the young child.
Depending on enrollment, campers are divided into one of two small groups. These groups include one K and one group of 1st graders. The capacity for each group is 30 children. Each group is taught by one teacher and assisted by 3 teacher’s aides. At capacity our ratio is 1:7.
Throughout the week, campers will engage in: The Construction Room, Artist Inspired Invitations, Mad Science and Jammin with Julie.
Family Activities
Each year we welcome families to join us at our Construction Room Open House. Here they will have the opportunity to see how we use ordinary stuff in extraordinary ways!
Communication
Our newsletter will be available online every Friday while camp is in session. This will provide you with weekly highlights as well as reminders about special events.
